Welcome from our Administrator

Welcome to Zion Lutheran School.  Thank you for considering Zion as you make this important decision for your child.  As a parent myself, I know the time and emotions that go into choosing the right school for your child.

Serving Cologne and the surrounding area for more than 150 years, Zion has always been committed to providing all of our students with a rigorous academic program, taught through a Christian worldview, that aligns with Minnesota State Standards.  All members of our team our engaged in continuous professional development as we strive to deliver high quality, student-based experiences in our classrooms.

Zion strives to ensure that every student has what they need to be successful.  Our small class sizes enable our excellent teachers to provide one-on-one instruction to all students, allowing each student to reach their full potential through this instruction and the differentiated learning environments the small classes allow.

Our students not only excel in the classroom, but in various co-curricular activities that we offer as well.  Zion offers excellent athletic programs that have produced many fine athletes over the years.  We also offer many opportunities for our students to be involved in fine arts opportunities such as drama, band, and choir.  We believe that the ability for students to balance both academic and co-curricular activities is essential to future academic success.

At Zion Lutheran, we take pride in our Christian heritage and ensure that it is at the center of everything we do at Zion.  Religion, as a class, is a core subject that every student takes at Zion.  The instruction provided establishes a strong foundation for the understanding of what it means to be a Christian today.  As a school, we come together for weekly chapels that reinforce classroom learning.

We also believe that being part of a family is one of the most important factor that determines academic success.  That’s why Zion stresses family involvement and strives to maintain a close relationship with each student and family.  Through the efforts of our devoted teachers and staff, Zion makes every student feel welcome and part of the Zion family, which allows them to lower their defenses and strive for personal excellence.

Do not hesitate to contact us at 952-466-3379 or tommarcsisak@zion-cologne.org if you have any questions.  You may also want to visit our website at school.zion-cologne.org for more information about our school.  As with many parents who have come and visited the school for the first time, we are confident that you, too, will feel that unique family atmosphere that only Zion is able to offer.

On behalf of Zion, we wish you God’s blessings to be with you in this decision and ask his presence to be with you today and always.
