Athletics

For a school of our size, Zion has had a very successful athletic history. Our volleyball team was league champion in 2016 and runner-up in 2015. Basketball teams have also thrived over the years, with our girl's team winning 17 consecutive conference championships in the 70's and 80's. Numerous Zion teams have participated in the Minnesota State Lutheran Basketball Tournament since its beginning in the 90's with both teams bringing home the title once. Three Zion teams have qualified for the Lutheran Basketball Association of America's National Tournament with one team blessed enough to be National Champions. In years when our enrollment doesn't allow us to field a team of our own, students are given the opportunity to participate with teams from neighboring schools in similar situations. Zion athletes go on to high school with many memories and a firm foundation in the fundamentals of their favorite sports.
